HGC Chief at 1st CREBA Monthly Meet

Home Guaranty Corporation (HGC) President Atty. Manuel R. Sanchez will be the guest of honour and speaker during the first monthly business meeting of the Chamber of Real Estate & Builders’ Associations, Inc. (CREBA) to be held on January 26, 2012, Thursday, 7:00 pm at the Grand Ballroom of the Hotel Intercontinental, Ayala Avenue, Makati City.

Founded in 1973 by known real estate leader and advocate Manuel M. Serrano, CREBA is the largest Philippine umbrella organization of individuals, business corporations, and professional associations engaged in housing and real estate development with 28 chapters all over the Philippines. Among its members are real estate developers, contractors, brokers, appraisers, financiers, supplies manufacturers and distributors, architects and urban planners, engineers, economists, and social scientists.

Charlie A. V. Gorayeb, CREBA National President, said that Sanchez is expected to highlight HGC’s present and future plans and programs on housing. HGC was created by virtue of Republic Act 8763 to promote sustainable home ownership by providing risk coverage, guarantees and tax or fiscal incentives to banks, financial institutions and other investors granting housing development loans and home financing.

Atty. Sanchez was admitted to the Philippine bar in 1968. He holds a Masters Degree in International Politics from Fordham University – New York and a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Harvard. He was likewise admitted to the New York State bar in 1974.

In 1992, Atty. Sanchez was elected Congressman of the first district of Rizal, and served as Assistant Majority Floor Leader during the 9th Congress. In the Executive Branch, he served as Undersecretary for Local Government of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG); Undersecretary for Broadcast of the Office of the Press Secretary (OPS); Undersecretary for Local Government of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR); Chairman of the Laguna Lake Development Authority (LLDA); Presidential Assistant under the Office of the President (OP); and Chairman and CEO of the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC).
