FIABCI: The Voice of International Real Estate

Global real estate has come of age. Solutions to market concerns have become widely accessible through global networks that work swiftly across vast oceans.

The International Real Estate Federation is an organization of real estate developers, professionals, practitioners and allied service sectors from different countries worldwide. Based in Paris, it is also popularly known by its French acronym FIABCI (Federation Internationale des Administrateurs de Bien Conselis Immobilieres).

FIABCI's sterling reputation as the voice of international real estate comes from its 52 years of multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural, multi-lingual, yet impartial and non-political approach to service. It builds a strong global real estate community by generating business opportunities and forging alliances among its members. Even the United Nations and European Union, among other international organizations, seek FIABCI's opinions on matters pertaining to the multiplier effects of real estate on global cultures and economies.

Members are listed free of charge in FIABCI's World Directory and online database that includes email addresses and website links. They can also use the FIABCI name and logo on their marketing and advertising materials for promotional purposes and credibility enhancement, and participate in FIABCI's cultural and educational exchange programs.

FIABCI Philippines International:
Your Route to a Global Marketplace

FIABCI's Philippine Chapter is officially known as FIABCI Philippines International, Inc. It was organized on Nov. 12, 2003 and registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Behind the inception of FIABCI Philippines is the Chamber of Real Estate & Builder's Associations, Inc. (CREBA). In 2002, CREBA president Florentino S. Dulalia, Jr. attended the ASEAN Association for Planning & Housing (AAPH) Congress in Bangkok. During the event, no less than FIABCI's world president at the time, Daniel Teo Tong How of Singapore, enlisted CREBA's membership. After a period of consultation and evaluation, CREBA became a principal member of FIABCI in June 2003. By mandate, CREBA formed FIABCI's Philippine chapter.

Today, it has some 50 members from the real estate industry. Members from the public sector include the Home Development Mutual Fund (Pag-IBIG), National Housing Authority (NHA), and National Home Mortgage Finance Corp. (NHMFC) under the umbrella of the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC). Soon thereafter, the Philippine Retirement Authority (PRA), Home Guaranty Corporation (HGC) and Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) also became public sector members of FIABCI.

Equally distinguished industry associations PARA (Philippine Association of Realty Appraisers) and REBAP (Real Estate Brokers Association of the Philippines) have also come into the fold of the federation as principal members of FIABCI.

History of Leadership

Mr. Florentino S. Dulalia Jr. And Realtor Victorio V. Soliven, were the founding president and chairman of the revived FIABCI-Philippines in 2003. During their term, FIABCI Philippines first held a grand induction ceremony, capped by an Investment Forum at the Manila Hotel with the presence of Malaysian, Thai, and Japanese leaders of the Federation.

FIABCI-Philippines has been waiving the Philippine flag in various regional conferences and world congresses since then.

Realtor Bobby Sy took over the reins of leadership in 2006. During this year, FIABCI-Philippine hosted for the first time an Asia-Pacific Regional Summit at the Hotel Intercontinental in Makati City which was attended by more than 50 delegates from 11 countries.

Madame Purita Soliven stepped up as president in 2007 and wishes to address the challenge of expanding the membership of the federation in the Philippines and provide boundless international opportunities for stakeholders in the industry.
