4PH, Mindanao railway pushed at VISMIN housing confab

Secretary Leo T. Magno, Presidential Assistant for Eastern Mindanao, announced that the national government has already signed more than 120 MOUs with various LGUs for the construction of some 1 million units throughout the country under the 4PH housing program of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

Speaking before CREBA’s 2023 VISMIN Regional Housing Conference at General Santos City last week, Secretary Magno stressed that the administration of Present Marcos Jr. is serious in providing 6 million socialized housing units to homeless Filipinos.

The government financial institutions are all set to bankroll the 4PH program”, the Secretary said.

The Secretary also stressed that “the 4PH is where CREBA is most needed as our partners,” adding that “the greater interest of the greatest number has always been CREBA’s paramount concern.”

Also speaking before the conference, Senator Joseph Victor G. Ejercito – Chair of the Senate Committee on Urban Planning, Housing and Resettlement and the staunchest defender of the Mindanao Railway System (MRS) project when it was first proposed, vowed to push harder for the project now that he is back in the Senate.

The Senator underscored that the MRS, which will interconnect the whole of Mindanao, will be the key to not only economic growth but also lasting peace in the area.
