About CREBA-Iloilo

The CREBA-Iloilo Chapter was organized in 1977 through the diligent efforts of its first President Engr. Ramon Hechanova who guided the chapter for some three decades.

Officially registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission as the Iloilo Chamber of Real Estate and Builders Association Inc., (I-CREBA), it was the first CREBA chapter formed outside Metro Manila to ensure the representation of the other regions to effectively champion the cause of what was then an already growing real estate and housing sector all over the country.

The Chapter’s second president was Florendo Besana, who was himself a Charter Member of the chapter. Flor Besana actively represented the chapter in numerous initiatives and assignments. These included serving in the Western Visayas Regional and Iloilo Provincial TESDA Boards, BIR Provincial Board and the City Zonal Valuation Boards, to name a few. He was succeeded by Valerie S. Maravilla.

CREBA-Iloilo Chapter adopted three main local objectives, to wit:

  1. Support CREBA’s national thrust toward significant membership growth and development;
  2. Create more visibility and advocacy projects towards development and improvement of the local real estate and housing industry; and
  3. Encourage greater corporate responsibility and undertake civic services by both the organization and its individual members thereby improving the lives of the less fortunate.

CREBA-Iloilo  hosted the 23rd CREBA National Convention in 2014.
