CREBA-SOCCSKSARGEN was founded as the “CREBA General Santos City” Chapter in August 1991 with the help of active officers and members of the CREBA Davao Chapter.
Dra. Emely Lagare, then president of REBAP-General Santos, was elected as its first president. As the membership grew through the years, CREBA-General Santos became a regional organization that included neighboring provinces and cities in Central Mindanao such as the four major provinces: South Cotabato, Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat and Sarangani, and General Santos City, the region’s capital city.
Thus, in 1995, the chapter was renamed CREBA-SOCCSKSARGEN.
Unfortunately, beset by the effects of the financial crisis of the 90s, the organization was forced into hiatus because of the discouraging state of the real estate industry and adverse national economic conditions at the time.
On July 2013, CREBA-National Vice President for Chapter Affairs Techie Bautista invited Dra. Emely Lagare to a CREBA-Davao forum and encouraged the revival of the SOCCSKSARGEN Chapter, made timely by the rosy state of the local economy and the rise of younger professionals and land owners in Region 12. Again, Dra. Lagare was elected as President with the active, highly experienced executive, Sid Isidro, as Chairman of the Board.
The Chapter continues to attract the keen participation of up-and-coming business leaders in the area that fuels it vision to multiply and strengthen the chapter membership. This is the driving vision of the chapter administration as they strive for sustained cooperative efforts to serve the regional need for housing of the people.
Today, a new breed of real estate developers, property professionals and landowners participate in the chapter, which serves as a strong platform to promote CREBA’s mission and vision in this part of Mindanao.
Incumbent Chapter President is Mr. Isidro H. Protasio.
