CIAC seeks investors for over P34-B flagship projects

The Clark International Airport Corp. (CIAC) is seeking investors for its PHP34 billion worth of flagship projects.

CIAC president and chief executive officer Arrey Perez, in a briefing on Monday, said the government-owned and controlled corporation (GOCC) has lined up seven flagship projects that will be part of the Clark Airport City.

The biggest of these is the 37-hectare multi-use Clark Entertainment and Events Center worth PHP21 billion, which is for entertainment, recreation, and lifestyle activities.

Another project is the Clark National Food Hub, worth PHP8.5 billion. Under this project, a 60-hectare parcel of land within CIAC’s property will be developed to help support the administration food security goals.

Supporting the mega food terminal is the PHP1.6-billion National Food Gateway.

CIAC also aims to develop better road networks to Clark, and one of these is the Clark Direct Access Link, a PHP1.2-billion infrastructure project.

As part of its urban planning while fostering sustainability within the 1,441-hectare property, CIAC has included as among its priority projects a PHP1.8-billion Urban Renewal and Heritage Conservation Program.

Other projects are the CIAC’s new headquarters and Clark’s logistics hub.

Perez said CIAC is eyeing to undertake these flagship projects through public-private partnership (PPP) arrangement.

This year, the GOCC is doing project preparations, which include feasibility studies, architectural and engineering designs, and market sensing.

Bidding for these projects are targeted by next year, with implementation to start between 2026 to 2028.
